Main Purpose of the Job:
The Stakeholder Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating the design approval process across all project stakeholders and statutory authorities. This role plays a critical part in managing stakeholder expectations, ensuring compliance with local authority requirements, and facilitating smooth communication between design teams and external entities. The Stakeholder Engineer must report regularly to the Unit Stakeholder Manager, providing updates on project status, risks, opportunities, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage stakeholder and authority requirements within the design team, while effectively communicating design objectives to statutory bodies.
- Monitor, track, and report the status of design reviews and approvals, ensuring alignment with project delivery timelines and client expectations.
- Ensure submissions to statutory authorities/stakeholders follow established procedures and comply with all relevant regulations.
- Facilitate communication between clients, contractors, and stakeholders, integrating authority/stakeholder requirements into design deliverables.
- Participate in meetings and negotiations with various statutory authorities and stakeholders to secure approvals.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of authority requirements applicable in Abu Dhabi - covering buildings, infrastructure, and master planning.
- Prepare and maintain NOC trackers across all design stages to monitor progress and approval statuses.
- Coordinate registration and submission processes across various authorities, including (but not limited to):
- Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT)
- Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM)
- Al Ain Municipality (AAM)
- Al Dhafra Region Municipality (DRM)
- Abu Dhabi Civil Defence (ADCD)
- TAQA, ADMCC, ETISALAT (e&), Du, and others
Candidate Specification
- Highly organized and methodical in managing stakeholder and statutory authority interactions, with the ability to accurately file, store, and retrieve information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
- Experience, preferably in stakeholder coordination, design approvals, and authority liaison roles within the UAE.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic, enabling confident and clear engagement with stakeholders, clients, and government entities.
- In-depth understanding of the design approval processes and authority requirements for buildings, roads, and utility infrastructure within the UAE regulatory framework.
- Demonstrates leadership capabilities, with a proven track record of successful project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and timely delivery of approvals.
